Assistant Portfolio Manager

We are seeking a full time Assistant Portfolio Manager.  This person will work closely with the firm’s founder, assisting in the management of about half of the firm’s client portfolios.   Duties include implementing investment policy in portfolios with differing financial objectives and social concerns; regular communications with clients; responses to specific client issues; trading; maintenance of systems and controls for all aspects of portfolio management and compliance with best practices.  In addition this job entails participation in our regular Investment Committee meetings.  Since we are a small firm, currently eight people, each of us gets involved to some extent in everyone else’s job.  And since we are also a growing firm, there is a good chance that the person who fills this job will have opportunities for promotion.

Applicants must have at least a Bachelor’s Degree and a CFA or an MBA, a minimum of two years experience working at an investment firm, proficiency with Microsoft Office software, command of basic mathematical tools involved in optimizing portfolios and analyzing investments and computing investment performance. Good verbal and written communication skills are essential.  A working knowledge of socially responsible investing and the Advent portfolio management software products would be highly desirable.   

We are an LLC owned only by employees.  All employees become owners after one or two years.  We provide fully paid health insurance coverage, fully paid commuter transportation, and paid vacation of varying lengths depending on tenure. Salary will be competitive and commensurate with experience.
