SHAREHOLDER ADVOCACY

We endeavor to vote our clients’ shares on all resolutions that come before stockholders, and we initiate communication with companies and coordinate with NGOs and other organizations to further progressive causes.

With our clients’ shares and voice:

  • We involve ourselves in the causes of sustainability and economic justice when shareholder action has the potential to be effective, and we do not limit our purchases to companies that already perform well on ESG measures.
  • We co-file shareholder resolutions when private company dialogues fail to make progress. To this end, we believe that socially responsible investors have been most effective when they have acted in concert with other concerned constituencies and organizations.
  • We vote in favor of measures that seek to limit the compensation of top executives, increase and empower outside directors, disclose complete information about company policies, and introduce staggered terms for corporate boards.
